Hydrangeas and a Rose

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

Two weeks ago two of my nieces and I went to the Botanical Gardens. As we figured that the roses were the only flowers blooming we headed for the Rose Garden only to find out that we were probably a week late. The scent was still amazing and we were still impressed with the size of the garden and the many varieties of roses. Will have to get there a little earlier next year to see them at their prime.

I hate to throw this in my family's face but today I had to cut back my hydrangeas as they were suffocating the picnic table. I cut the front back and had enough for big bouquets for my cleaning lady, three of my neighbors and myself. My neighbor across the street sounded like she was from Michigan talking about how her hydrangea only has three blooms on it in her backyard.

This is the "after" picture.

Here is the entire row of them.

How pretty is this?

Very pretty, and good to see the oft-used picnic table is not being crowded =P
